A column is only as good as what sits inside it. Buyers rarely open a specification with "we need a Raschig ring" — they open it with an outcome. Lower pressure drop at the same throughput. Longer service life between turnarounds. A packing that survives the acid, the heat, and the fines that the process throws at it. That gap between an outcome and a purchase order is where Putian High-tech Industrial Co., Ltd. has worked since 1999.
Pingxiang Putian High-tech Industrial Co., Ltd. — formerly Pingxiang Xiyuan Packing Factory — is a research, manufacturing, and technical service enterprise based in Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province, the region long known as China's industrial ceramic capital. Our facility covers 39,500 m², and our registered capital stands at RMB 50,000,000. We build the internals of separation and absorption columns, and we build them across five material families: ceramic, metal, honeycomb ceramic, ceramic ball, and molecular sieve.
One Supplier, Five Packing Families
Ceramic tower packing is the backbone of the range. It covers Ceramic Raschig Ring, Ceramic Pall Ring, Ceramic Intalox Saddles, Ceramic Super Intalox Saddles, Ceramic Cascade Mini Ring, Ceramic Cross Ring, and Ceramic Corrugated Structure Packing. For projects where weight matters — revamps with limited structural allowance, towers with low load-bearing capacity — the light ceramic line offers Plum Blossom Ring and Seven Hole Ring structured packing, both designed to reduce bulk density without giving up surface area.
Ceramic as a material earns its place where metal cannot go. It resists aggressive acids, holds its geometry at elevated temperature, and does not corrode into the product stream. In sulfuric acid drying and absorption towers, in hydrochloric acid recovery, in chlorine scrubbing, and in high-temperature gas cleaning, ceramic packing is often the only economically sensible choice.
Metallic tower packing serves the opposite need: high efficiency in a light, thermally conductive body. The line includes Metal Raschig Ring, Metal Pall Ring, Metal Intalox Saddles, Metal Cascade Mini Ring, Metal Perforated-Plate Structure Packing, and Wire Mesh Gauze Structure Packing. Where the duty calls for high throughput and low pressure drop per theoretical stage — vacuum distillation, refinery fractionation, fine chemical separation — structured metal packing carries far more separation capacity per cubic meter than random ceramic.
Heat exchange honeycomb ceramic brings the same ceramic discipline to thermal recovery. Our HRV ceramic core serves fresh-air ventilation systems, and our RTO heat exchange honeycomb ceramic is built for regenerative thermal oxidizer beds: high specific heat capacity, large surface area in a compact block, and the thermal shock resistance that cycling service demands.
Ceramic balls and molecular sieves complete the column. Inert ceramic balls support beds and redistribute flow. Activated alumina balls handle drying and adsorption. Heat exchange balls and grinding balls cover thermal and milling duties. On the sieve side we produce 3A, 4A, 5A, and 13X molecular sieves alongside carbon molecular sieve — the full range from moisture removal and CO₂ scrubbing to oxygen and nitrogen generation by pressure swing adsorption.
And on the filtration side, ceramic membrane filter tubes extend the material science into liquid-solid separation, where microporous ceramic media deliver clarity and chemical resistance that polymer membranes struggle to match.
Where These Products Go to Work
Our packing and ceramic products are applied across non-ferrous metal smelting, iron and steel, petrochemical refining, coal chemical processing, electric power generation, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Those six industries share a common demand: continuous operation under hostile chemistry, with turnarounds that are expensive to schedule and expensive to miss.
The industry pressure is real. Emission limits tighten every year. Energy costs push operators toward lower pressure drop per unit of separation. Revamp projects — squeezing more capacity out of an existing column shell — have become more common than greenfield builds, because the shell already exists and the packing is the cheapest variable to change. All three trends favor suppliers who can offer multiple material options and speak honestly about which one fits the duty.
That is the practical advantage of a broad portfolio. A ceramic Pall Ring and a metal Cascade Mini Ring solve different problems. A buyer who works with one manufacturer across the whole decision — random versus structured, ceramic versus metal, sieve grade versus activated alumina — avoids the situation where the packing, the support balls, and the adsorbent are sourced from three vendors who never speak to each other.
Engineering Credentials, Not Marketing Claims
Our technical standing is documented rather than asserted. Pingxiang Putian High-tech is a National High-Tech Enterprise and a national "Specialized, Fine, Distinctive and Innovative Little Giant" enterprise, as well as a Jiangxi provincial private science and technology enterprise.
We are the first drafting unit of the national industry standard for alumina ceramic filters, and the first drafting unit of the group standard for vortex wet dust collectors used in steel enterprises. We have served as an undertaking unit for the Ministry of Science and Technology's Technology Innovation Fund for Small and Medium Technology Enterprises, for the 863 Program research subject on ultramicroporous ceramic tube membrane dust collectors for metallurgical kilns and furnaces, and for a sub-project of the National Key R&D Program's special focus on "Formation and Control of Air Pollution." Our collaboration with the materials genome innovation team of Academician Zhang Tongyi at Shanghai University was selected as a Jiangxi "Thousand Talents Plan" undertaking unit. We hold more than fifteen patents.
That research base is backed by standing cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Shanghai University, Wuhan University of Technology, Northeastern University, and the University of Science and Technology Beijing.
Recognition has followed. Our ceramic membrane filter has been designated a "National Customer Satisfied Product." Our microporous ceramic dust collector holds "National Key New Product" status along with Jiangxi Provincial Key New Product, Jiangxi Outstanding New Technology Product, and Jiangxi Famous Brand Product designations, plus the Pingxiang Science and Technology Progress Award. The company has received the Pingxiang Mayor's Quality Award and the Xiangdong District Mayor's Quality Award, and has been named among Pingxiang's Top Ten Public Welfare Enterprises while ranking as a major local taxpayer for consecutive years.
Beyond individual products, we can deliver environmental protection engineering contracting, mechanical and electrical installation general contracting, and waterproofing, anti-corrosion and insulation specialty contracting — useful when a project requires the packing supply and the installation scope to come from one accountable partner.
Choosing Between Ceramic, Metal, and Structured
A few principles guide most selections, and they are worth stating plainly for first-time buyers.
Start with chemistry. If the process stream attacks stainless steel, ceramic is the answer regardless of efficiency arguments. If the stream is clean and the priority is throughput, metal wins on weight and pressure drop.
Then look at the duty. Random packing — Raschig rings, Pall rings, Intalox saddles, cascade mini rings — offers robustness, easy installation, and tolerance of fouling. Structured packing delivers more theoretical stages per meter and lower pressure drop, but demands clean service and careful liquid distribution.
Consider the weight. For revamps, the light ceramic structured range can add surface area without overloading an existing support structure — a detail that decides more projects than efficiency tables do.
Do not forget the bed underneath. Support balls, hold-down layers, and adsorbents belong in the same purchase order as the packing. Mismatched layers cause channeling, and channeling erases the performance gain the packing was purchased to deliver.
